Two cars collided at the intersection of 6th and H streets in Eureka sending one careening through a traffic signal post. 

Witness Gary White told LoCO that he saw the blue Ford Taurus, driven by an older gentleman, run the stop light. The Taurus collided with a younger driver in the black Chevy hot roddish vehicle who had nowhere to go and crashed into the post.  

According to an Eureka Police officer at the scene, both drivers were conscious after the accident but were placed in neck braces and taken to the hospital in ambulances.
