Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On 02-08-2015, at about 9:45 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received a Call for Service regarding possible shots fired at the Cher-Ae Heights Casino, in Trinidad.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a male victim, who told them he had been involved in a verbal altercation with another male subject inside the Casino. The victim said he and the suspect decided to take their disagreement outside. Once outside the Casino, the victim and the suspect continued to have a verbal argument. The suspect then brandished a firearm, and fired at the victim. The victim was not hit, and was able to escape unharmed. The suspect fled on foot, and may have gotten a ride out of the area. The victim identified the suspect as Jonathan Nixon.

This case is currently under investigation.
