From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 07-05-2015, at about 3:45 A.M., the Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding an interrupted residential burglary, on the three thousand block of Hwy 36 in Hydesville, in which there had been shots fired.
The caller reported that his roommate was awakened by a male subject who had entered the residence and had a firearm. The male intruder was described as a thin white male adult, wearing a dark colored covering over the lower portion of his face. He was wearing a hat and a jacket and had a black handgun as well. When the male intruder demanded keys to a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence, the roommate did not comply and instead went upstairs to wake up others in the house. The male intruder fired the handgun in the direction of the staircase, and then fled the residence.
When the male intruder left the residence, he went out to Hwy 36, where a white SUV arrived on scene. He got into the passenger side of the vehicle. It appeared as though a female may have been driving the SUV. The vehicle then left the scene west on Hwy 36.
