Four people were hurt in a two-car crash at the intersection of Buhne and S streets a few minutes ago — two with moderate injuries, two with minor injuries. Humboldt Bay Fire and two ambulances are currently at the scene providing medical care.
Eureka police were called to provide traffic control, but both streets are currently open and traffic is moving along just fine. Fire department personnel have been dealing with a minor chemical spill — leaking coolant from one of the vehicles — that resulted from the crash.
Moments ago, Outpost reporter John Ferrara spoke with a witness, who said that it appeared there was some confusion between the two cars involved about who had the right of way:

UPDATE: Officer Ed Wilson tells the Outpost that the injured parties were able to respond to emergency medical techs — “always a good sign” — and that the police are still investigating whether DUI might have been a factor in the crash:
