Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 03-05-15 at 2 a.m. a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to the emergency room at St. Joseph hospital regarding a 20 year old female victim, who had been stabbed. The deputy contacted the victim, who was being treated for a single stab wound to her left neck. The victims injury was not life threatening.
The victim told the deputy at about 00:30 a.m. she was walking by herself on Myrtle Avenue near the shopping center. The victim said a green or gray, 4-door; Honda looking type vehicle pulled up to her and stopped. The victim said a male suspect and a female suspect got out of the vehicle. The victim said the male suspect shouted out, “Get her purse” The victim said she was then physically assaulted by both suspects. The victim said during the assault she received a stab wound to her neck by one of the suspects.
The victim said after she was stabbed the suspects took off without getting her purse. The victim told the deputy she then started walking towards the hospital for help. The victim said an unknown subject picked her up and gave her ride to the emergency room.
The victim said she did not know the two suspects. The victim described the male suspect as being a white male adult in his early 20’s, with short brown hair and was wearing a red jacket. The victim described the female suspect as being a white female adult around 20 years old, with short brown hair, and was wearing a grey tee shirt with black type stretch pants.
Deputies responded to the area of the incident and could not locate any witnesses or suspects.
