Mother Ocean mostly giveth, but Friday there is higher potential she could taketh away if you’re not careful. The fine folks at the National Weather Service’s Eureka outpost expect 16-19 foot breakers to creep on Humboldt beaches, increasing in size throughout Friday. LoCO will now, again, pass along the standard list of NWS tips for not getting killed by the ocean:

  • Keep a respectful distance from the ocean.
  • Avoid climbing rocks, jetties, outcroppings, etc.
  • Avoid steeply sloped beaches.
  • Never turn your back on the ocean.

Got it? Swell. <—- !!!

Now here is LoCO‘s go-to “Look at the big waves at the North Jetty!” clip. Wheeee!
