A desktop computer, monitor and coins to be used for charity were stolen from St. Patrick’s parish house in Scotia this week.
Parishioner Tim Marks told the Outpost that someone busted in through several doors and stole a Dell computer used for church book keeping. Marks said it is unclear when the burglary took place because the house had gone unused for about a week.
“You can tell they kicked [the door] in. There were splinters all over the kitchen floor,” Marks said. “The last time we had a parish break-in, was way back when I was a kid. They took a safe full of baptismal records. That was a long time ago.”
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the burglary.
