Two people were rescued from the water today after falling from their kayaks near the mouth of the Eel River around 2 p.m.
According to scanner traffic, one of the kayakers was unresponsive during the time of rescue.
The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay tells the Outpost that one kayaker was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka.
It is unknown at this time how the pair became displaced from their kayaks.
