From the Eureka Police Department:
On December 12, 2016, at about 10:00 p.m., two full Toys for Tots bins were stolen from the Bayshore Mall. Surveillance images showed two white male suspects walking out of the mall with the bins. The suspects were last seen running north on Broadway.
On December 13, 2016, at about 11:54 a.m., Detectives with the Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP) spotted one of the suspects near the 2700 block of Broadway. The male was identified as Robert Cochran III, 33 of Eureka. Cochran was still wearing the same clothes as seen in the surveillance and was in possession of some stolen toys. Cochran was arrested for possession of stolen property and probation violation.
On December 14, 2016, at about 8:45 a.m., POP Detectives with the assistance of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Coast Guard located the second suspect, Steven Danielson, 31 of Eureka, near the foot of Pound Rd. Danielson was in possession of stolen property linked to several vehicle burglaries, but not in possession of stolen toys. Danielson was arrested for a felony parole warrant, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, felon in possession of tear gas, and probation violation.
