The Marching Lumberjacks are back! … Kinda.

In a statement released earlier today, the band says that Humboldt State University has lifted a suspension that prevented the band from representing the school locally.

However, the band states that university administrators are still preventing the band to represent HSU outside Humboldt County.

“We are hopeful that this is the first step in restoring our ability in the upcoming semester to represent the students, the university, and the community up and down the entire West Coast,” the statement reads. “We would like to especially thank everyone for the all the kind messages and the outpouring of community support we continue to receive.”

Latest info on the Band’s suspension:

It’s been lifted… sort of… but not really.

We have been informed this week that the band will be allowed to perform at local events.

However, at this moment, the band is restricted from representing the university outside of Humboldt County; this would include supporting our basketball teams on the road, as well as planned performances during the upcoming spring semester in Cloverdale, Davis and San Francisco.

We are hopeful that this is the first step in restoring our ability in the upcoming semester to represent the students, the university, and the community up and down the entire West Coast.

We would like to especially thank everyone for the all the kind messages and the outpouring of community support we continue to receive.

Our return performances are scheduled for the HSU home basketball games 12/30 & 12/31.
