From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On Thursday, December 22, 2016 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Humboldt County Deputies responded to a residence on the 200 block of Pine Drive in Salmon Creek for a report of a home invasion that had just occurred. Deputies met with a 69 year old female victim who stated she was awakened by two suspects entering her unlocked residence. The suspects covered her head, tied her hands and demanded money. The victim was unable to provide cash, at which point the suspects ransacked her residence, taking her cell phone, social security card, and passport. The suspects then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspects are unknown to the victim, however, they are described as possibly being two Hispanic males. It is unknown if the suspects were armed with weapons. The victim was uninjured during the robbery.
Deputies conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspects or associated vehicles. The investigation is currently ongoing.
