The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office this morning sent a Hazmat team to Lighthouse Road, near Petrolia, where they found the body of a deceased male.

“We are still investigating this death,” Community Service Officer Selena Zorrilla-Mendoza told the Outpost. The call came in at 8:53 this morning, she said, and the response took a little longer than usual because unknown chemicals were suspected in the vehicle. 

Officers responded with gear designed to protect them from toxic chemicals. The identity of the deceased man is not being released at this time.
