In loving memory of Richard William Jones, 01/14/1942 - 01/12/2016.

Richard was entered into life on January 14th, 1942 in Scotia, Calif., to Clifford Nathaniel Jones and Adaline McCovey Jones. Sadly, on January 12th, 2016 he entered into heaven, but he is not alone. He is now with his parents, grandparents and his nine brothers and sisters, plus many more relatives watching over us all.

He leaves behind his sister Barbara Jones McNertney, whom he resided with in Eureka, and his brother Marvin Wallace Jones of Crescent City. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and nephews, his aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends.

He was a wonderful brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend. We have a large family but Richard was a huge part of our family, a strong pillar. He was an amazing man here is a little bit about Richard Jones. He worked for the forestry industry many years ago and also for Parks and Forestry, which was his passion. He also worked for Northern California Indian Development Council (NCIDC) and the local rescue mission for many years.

When he retired he dedicated his life to his family, friends and his church. He chose to walk in God’s path about 20 years ago or more. He then did ministry work at the Humboldt County Jail. A lot of people knew him as Mr. Jones. He was a dedicated Christian, he went to church at the Redwood Christian Center in Humboldt Hill, he put all his faith into God.

He was the type to just go with the flow of life; he never asked for anything from anyone. He said if it was meant to be God would find a way to make it happen. He was always helping others. If you needed help he never said no. He was always there for you even if it was just to talk. He always gave the best advice. He was the type to see the good in people and never the bad. That’s what made him so unique in his life. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends that knew him.

There will be a viewing for him at 1086 John Hill Rd, Eureka on Wednesday January 20th, 2016 from 12 pm to 10 pm and again on Thursday January 21th, 2016 from 9 am to 3 pm. Following on Thursday at 6 pm there will be a potluck memorial service held at Redwood Christian Center in Humboldt Hill.
