Around 9:15 last night, several people called the Fortuna Police Department to report that three shots had been fired on the 2600 block of Boone Street, off School Street in Rohnerville. Officers responded but in the dark were unable to find any evidence of the shooting.

This morning, a resident emerged to find three bullet holes in her car, which had been parked at the curb — one on the passenger’s side of the hood, one in the passenger-side headlight and one in the back rear tire.

Officers again responded and took a report, Lt. Matt Eberhardt told the Outpost this morning. While there are no suspects at this point, Eberhardt added, “There were reports of an unknown subject fleeing northbound on foot” Monday night. “The incident is still under investigation.”
