Major rescue operations are underway in Southern Humboldt and the Van Duzen corridor following near-simultaneous bad crashes on the roadways there.
In Briceland, one person is believed to be pinned in a car that went way off Old Briceland Road and far over the side. Technical rescue crews and other medical personnel are attempting to reach the person trapped in the vehicle. Multiple rescue vehicles are said to be blocking or nearly blocking the roadway at this time.

Meanwhile, there an air ambulance has been ordered for a crash near Grizzly Creek Redwood State Park on Highway 36. One person — a woman — is said to be trapped in a vehicle at this location following a crash of some sort. As per scanner traffic, it was originally supposed that this was a three- or four-vehicle crash, but dispatchers are not yet certain.
