Caltrans has some work to do today that may slow your Thursday passage through Eureka (or slightly impede frappuccino acquisition). LoCO’s resident traffic expert Coney explains below:

Caltrans will be performing a temporary emergency pavement repair on U.S. Highway 101 in Eureka this afternoon near the intersection of 5th & E streets. This work will necessitate a temporary closure of the #3 (right-most) lane on northbound U.S. 101 for approximately one hour. (See “advanced computer imagery” for better reference.)

Motorists should anticipate traffic slowdowns as vehicles merge left around the work site.
