Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release: 

On Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at about 2:30 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on the 1300 block of Toth Road in Shelter Cove and also at a residence on the 300 block of Blueridge Road in Shelter Cove. Upon serving the warrants, deputies located several large outdoor greenhouse marijuana grows on both parcels. An additional indoor marijuana grow was located inside the main residence located at the property on Blueridge Road.

A total of 2123 growing marijuana plants were located on the properties. Deputies also located indicia associated with 54 year old Todd David Athey, processed marijuana bud, documentation of sales, digital scales, packaging materials, $65,385 in US currency, money orders, a shotgun, and a pistol.

Deputies located Athey on the property and arrested him for marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sales, conspiracy to commit a crime, and commission of a weapon. Athey was taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and booked on the listed charges. His bail was set at $75,000.
