Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release: 

On Thursday, March 10, 2016 at about 8:25 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary that occurred at the Redway Feed Store in Redway. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the reporting party. The reporting party stated when she arrived at the business she noticed the front door of the business had been broken. She then contacted law enforcement as well as the store manager.

The reporting party told the deputy there was a glass jar on the counter near the registers that contained money for Hospice donations that was taken. There was approximately $50 in donations in the jar. The suspect also stole several flashlights, totaling approximately $290.00. Both of the cash registers inside the store were found open, but cash was not left in them overnight. The store manager estimated it would cost $1,500 to replace the broken glass on the front door.
