The Shasta-Trinity U.S. National Forest Service reports that a sinkhole is developing beneath the Northbound lane of State Route 3.
Caltrans has opened up the highway to one-way traffic control. The lane closure is located two miles north of Rush Creek Campground and 19 miles south of the Trinity Center.
