From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On Sunday, March 20, 2016, at about 6:39 p.m. a Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff observed a stolen vehicle pass his location on School Rd, McKinleyville. The vehicle was a silver 2003 Ford truck. The deputy attempted to pull the truck over but the driver attempted to evade the deputy by turning behind Ray’s Food Place. The truck stopped and a passenger jumped out of the vehicle and fled. The driver continued to drive behind K-Mart, where he then parked and fled the vehicle. The deputy immediately apprehended the driver, a 16 year old male.
The 16 year old male was taken to Juvenile Hall where he was booked for vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and fleeing from a traffic officer. The vehicle was returned to the owner. The second suspect is still outstanding.
