Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office press release:

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at approximately 1315 hours a female inmate in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility attempted suicide by jumping over the rails part way up a staircase.

Correctional and Medical Staff immediately responded and rendered medical aid. The inmate was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries where she was treated and then returned to the facility.
