Jennifer Fukuoka was born Betty Katherine Blankenship on Aug. 5, 1964 to Ray and Kay Blankenship in Corpus Christi, Texas. She left this earthly plane on Feb. 14, 2017 in Willow Creek.

She is survived by sister Barbara Crain (and husband Charlie) and family; brother Jeff Blankenship (and wife Diana) and family; sister Becky Blankenship of Hawaii; and brother Lonny (and wife Norine) and family; son Rick Johnson; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

As with every life, Jen had her share of turmoil. For Jen, that meant putting on a facade for much of the world to see. Therefore, the family would like to share the big-hearted soul behind the veil — a kind heart that loved family, meeting new people, making friends wherever she went. She had a love for animals and a simple nature. Happiness was brought to her with a good book on the beach, gathering driftwood and shells, or a good laugh with those who cared.

So if you were ever lucky enough to see through her facade – to see the true heart – we hope you will take a moment to remember the special lady and smile for her with us today.

Living much of her life in Hawaii with mother Kay until her passing in 2004 and sister Becky Blankenship, Jen was always happiest with the wind and her back, the sun on her face, and the sand beneath her feet. Jen, you will be truly missed, but you live on in the hearts of the many who loved you. When we feel the wind on our back, or the sun on our face, we will know you are smiling down upon us with your loving grace.
