Two Arrested in Eureka at Residence Allegedly Containing Heroin and Meth For Sale

On July 13, 2017 at approximately 0900 hours Agents with the Humboldt County Drug
Task Force and Officers with the Eureka Police POP Unit served search warrants in the
2300 block of Maple Lane in Eureka. The Superior Court warrant was obtained after a
lengthy investigation into heroin and methamphetamine sales at the residence on Maple
Lane. Agents served the warrant and detained several individuals occupying the
residence. Agents utilized a K9 unit from the District Attorney’s office and located the
following items. Approximately 13 ounces of black tar heroin, scales, and items
consistent with sales of heroin. Agents also located a usable amount of
methamphetamine, packaged marijuana and a large amount of concentrated cannabis.
Arrested in this investigation were Nancy Burks for possession of heroin for sale and
maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales and Traci Walden for possession
of marijuana for sale and possession of methamphetamine.
