A Portland PenAir flight bound for Eureka missed its departure time after an owl was discovered hiding out in the plane’s wheel well.
Portland’s NBC affiliate KGW reports that the incident happened last week, after the plane was stored overnight in an old PDX hangar known to be inhabited by owls.
KGW reports that the plane was supposed to be the first flight of the morning, but ended up being delayed 25 minutes as crews tried to remove the bird.
The video above shows travelers laughing as the owl is plucked from the planes undercarriage.
