Christine Hope Celi Taylor, age 58, of McKinleyville, California passed away the early morning of May 25, 2017. Christine was born in Syracuse, New York on August 1, 1958 to Joseph Celi and Francesca (Currenti) Celi.

Christine was known for her free spirit, a trait that carried her throughout the country. It was during her travels after graduating Liverpool High School that she met and married James Taylor in Tuscon, Arizona. Together, they journeyed to Northern California to homestead property off the grid and raise their two children, Jonah and Hannah.

One of Christine’s accomplishments was earning a Master’s Degree in Sociology from Humboldt State University. Through this program she made close friendships to last a lifetime. Christine worked as a mediator, a youth case worker and as a sentencing advocate. She was passionate about the power of dialogue to transform relationships.

Christine lived life to the fullest through travel, photography, and attending concerts like the Grateful Dead, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and BB King. Her zest for life led to many adventures, like the time she bought a car on eBay and drove it cross-country. Her love of nature drew her to visit numerous National Parks, soak in many hot springs, and swim in rivers and waterfalls. She enjoyed collecting agates and stones, completing home renovations, and playing with her dogs, Keegan then Trooper. Her most cherished times were spent with those she loved. Even during her battle with cancer, her powerful energy continued to attract people to her.

She is survived by her love Ed Pepin, her son Jonah Taylor, daughter Hannah Taylor, granddaughters Chloe Montano-Taylor and Karli Blunkall, sister Ann Marie Caparco, brother Frederick Celi and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francesca Celi and father, Joseph Celi.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Moonstone Beach on June 4th, 2017 at 2 pm. All who loved her are encouraged to attend, as we join together to remember the many ways Christine touched each of our lives.

Her family would like to offer their sincere thanks and gratitude to the team at Resolution Care, staff at Mad River Hospital, Hospice, and the many friends who sat by her side during her battle. She loved and appreciated each one of you.
