Cal Fire and Humboldt Bay Fire have responded to a small vegetation fire that’s smokin’ up the skies just south of Eureka out Elk River Road. According to HBF Battalion Chief Sean Robertson the blaze was a permitted controlled burn that got just a little bit out of control. Crews have the spread contained. 

“It’s not going anywhere,” Robertson told us. “It’s just creating a lot of smoke.”
