One Arrested by Drug Task Force During Heroin Raid in Fortuna

On 05-23-17 at around 10:00 A.M. Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with
assistance from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence in the 2600 block
of Boone Street in the city of Fortuna.
When the warrant was served agents located the resident, 51-year-old Laurie Potts. With the assistance of
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detection K-9 Ella, Special Agents located 35 grams of suspected
heroin. Two digital scales, packaging materials along with pay and owe sheets were also located during the
search.
$3,200.00 in U.S. currency was located and seized as it was believed to be proceeds from illegal narcotics
sales. Laurie was arrested for possession of a narcotic, possession of a narcotic for sale, maintaining a residence
for the purposes of selling narcotics and violation of probation. She was subsequently booked into the
Humboldt County Correctional Facility for the above listed charges.
