Parolee Arrested in Garberville on Suspicion of Domestic Violence, Meth Possession
From the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 09/02/2017 at 11:56 a.m.,
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assigned to the Garberville Station were
dispatched to a motel located in the 800 block of Redwood Drive, Garberville,
to investigate the report of Domestic Violence.
Upon arrival, Deputies
determined that Joshua Brandon Marcum
(age 29) was the aggressor in a Domestic Violence incident. Deputies also learned that Marcum is a California
Department of Corrections (CDC) parolee and that he was wanted by CDC for
parole violations. Marcum was
subsequently placed under arrest for his warrant and the following charges:
Domestic violence causing injury - PC 273.5
Assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury
- PC 245(a)(4)
Battery with force causing great bodily injury - PC
243(d)
Intimidating or preventing a victim from reporting a
crime - PC 136.1(b)(1)
After Marcum
was taken into custody, Deputies located approximately 59 grams of suspected
methamphetamine in his possession. Marcum
was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale -
HS11378 and possession of a narcotic for sale - HS 11351.
Marcum was
transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on
the above charges. Due to Marcum’s
parole status, he is ineligible for bail at this time.
