One Arrested, 3.6 lbs. of Heroin Discovered During Drug Task Force Raids in Fortuna and Eureka

On April 3rd, 2018, at about 7:30 a.m. Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force with
assistance from the Fortuna Police Department, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, and a Humboldt County
District Attorney’s Office K-9 served a search warrant at the 2000 block of Spring Street in Eureka and the 500
block of 16th Street in Fortuna.
During the service of the search warrant in Eureka, Agents located approximately 3.6 pounds of heroin
that was found in a false compartment in a vehicle at the residence. This vehicle was listed on the search
warrant as well as the residences. Agents arrested 21-year old Oscar Andres Carranza for possession for sale of
heroin, transportation and sales of heroin, and use of a false compartment in a vehicle. Agents also located a
digital scale and packaging materials inside the home in Eureka.
Andres-Carranza was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional facility where he was booked
for the above listed charges.
This was a month-long investigation into heroin sales in the Fortuna and Eureka areas. Anyone with
