56-Year-Old Eureka Man Killed in Solo Vehicle Crash on 299 Last Night
From the California Highway Patrol:
On 04-03-2018, at
approximately 2339 hours, a 56 year old male was driving a 2001
Porsche westbound on S/R 299, west of the Mad River Bridge. The
driver allowed the vehicle to travel off the north roadway edge,
where it rolled over, causing the driver to be ejected. Emergency
personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the driver deceased.
It was determined that the driver was the only occupant in the
vehicle at the time of the collision. The Humboldt County Coroner
responded to the scene and transported the deceased driver from the
scene. Identification of the driver is pending notification of next
of kin by the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.
Alcohol or drugs
as factors in this collision remains under investigation.
