Nanci
Parshall was born in Eureka in on September
29, 1955
to
Hans and Mary Frost. They immigrated to the United States from
Denmark. She was their second child and was proud of her Danish heritage and spent time in Denmark in her youth.
Nanci attended Eureka High School and graduated in 1973 and went on to College of the Redwoods, where she received her nursing degree. It was in her role as a nurse that Nanci felt most at home. She met and married Roger Parshall and with him had two children, Hans and Emily Parshall. She was extremely proud of her children and the people they have become as well as what they have accomplished in their lives: Hans has a doctorate in mathematics and Emily has become an elementary school teacher in Fortuna.
We all have our ups and downs in this life and Nanci was no different. She struggled with her own challenges, but through it all she was able to find humor. She could always find things to make her laugh, even when no one else was laughing. She was very fortunate to meet Dave Webb, her fiance. To Nanci he was a great companion, wonderful helper and all-around nice guy. Nanci was also very fortunate to have her “favorite” daughter live nearby. Emily was her mother’s best friend and she was always there to help Nanci when she needed it. One Christmas the pair left it all behind and went on a memorable trip to St. Croix.
On November 8th, 2018 Nanci passed from this world. She now joins her parents, sister Hanne, brother-in-law Tom and ex-husband Roger in the next. Left to remember her are her children: Hans and his wife Laura Provolt, Emily and partner Gregg, Nephew, Jason Heilmann, his wife Tyffani and their son, Bill and Niece, Heidi Parker and her husband Andy as well as their children Dylan, Shay and Natalie. She also leaves behind her trusty dog, Sniff, and cats Simon and Samantha.
A private celebration of Nanci’s life will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sequoia Humane Society in Nanci’s name. Farvel (Farewell).
