It’s that time again! Every spring, county government seizes and sells real estate that has been in property tax arrears for five years or more.
This year’s online auction — which begins in early March — features some 86 properties around the county, including places in Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, Fieldbrook, Orick, Willow Creek, Hoopa, Orleans, Rio Dell and — of course — Shelter Cove.
(Protip: Don’t even think about buying the properties in Shelter Cove! Those are bare lots that are basically unbuildable.)
