Ruth Roan, loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, born January 21, 1937, to Omer and Bonnie Snider in Birmingham Alabama passed away peacefully surrounded by love ones Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Eureka California. 

Moving to Rio Dell in 1967, Ruth raised two daughters and two sons along with helping to raise numerous grandchildren. Her lifelong partner Carl could always be seen at her side driving her from here to there. Always enjoying stopping to visit family. Visiting with her loved ones was her favorite thing to do. Along with gardening, planting beautiful flowers in her yard and baking. At least yearly trips to Arizona to visit her father we’re done until his passing.

If you asked “What was her occupation?” there would be so many answers. Because she was a known hard worker and more than once held several jobs at a time. Always being a provider. She would go without things so others could have. Her jobs ranged from taking care of others to pulling  crab and lumber.

Ruth is preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Francis and brothers Bob Snider and Omer Snider Junior. Also by her loving son, Silverio “Butch” Sanchez and Carlton Townsend, both of whom we all miss very much.

Ruth is survived by several loving family members who will miss her deeply. Her last living sibling, Donald Snider , of Colorado. Her children, Lorraine Crandall of Rio Dell, Ronald Sanchez of Eureka and Helen Sanchez of Rio Dell. Along with so many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren that all loved their grandma more than words. Our grandma lived to love!

Services are Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Goble‘s Mortuary, Fortuna.
