Levy

Humboldt County Planning Commissioner Noah Levy was arrested late Saturday night — technically early Sunday morning — and booked for alleged public intoxication by the Humboldt State University Police Department.

This marks the second alcohol-related arrest for Levy since his 2014 appointment to the Planning Commission. In July of that year he was arrested in Southern Humboldt on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded no contest to the lesser charge of misdemeanor reckless driving.

Levy was first appointed to the Third District seat on the Planning Commission by former Supervisor Mark Lovelace.

In January current Third District Supervisor Mike Wilson reappointed Levy to the commission. His current term expires in 2021.

The Outpost has reached out to the University Police Department requesting more information. We’ll update this post when we know more.

UPDATE: UPD Chief Donn Peterson said his agency is not releasing any more information beyond confirming that Levy was arrested in the early morning hours of July 1 and the case was referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
