REDDING, Calif. – The Six Rivers and the Shasta-Trinity National Forests continue to work together to safely suppress the Grape fire. The Grape Fire is holding at 244 acres and 60 percent containment.

Community Meeting: There will be a community meeting on Thursday, May 3 at 4 p.m. at the volunteer fire station in Hyampom. District Rangers and District Fire Management Officers (FMO) from both the Six Rivers and the Shasta-Trinity National Forests will be available to address any question or concerns from the community.

Area Closure: A Forest closure is now in effect for the Grape Fire. Closure area boundary begins at the junction of Forest Road No. 4N20 and Trinity County Road 311, then continues west along the southern edge of Forest Road No. 4N20 to its intersection with Forest Road No. 4N31, then continues northwest along the western edge of Forest Road No. 4N31 to its intersection with Forest Road No. 4N11B, then continues west and northwest along Forest Road No. 4N11B to its intersection with Section 23 (Township 4 North, Range 5 East Humboldt Meridian), then continues north along the eastern boundary of Section 23 to its intersection with Section 14 (Township 4 North, Range 5 East Humboldt Meridian), then continues north along the eastern boundary of Section 14 to its intersection with Forest Road No. 4N13, then continues east along Forest Road No. 4N13 to its intersection with Trinity County Road 311, then continues southeast along the western edge of Trinity County Road 311 back to the starting point. Wednesday’s weather forecast calls for sunny skies, with a high near 76.  Winds will be out of the east at 5 to 9 mph becoming light in the afternoon.
 
Top priorities continue to be firefighter and public safety, protecting private property, water systems, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) transmission lines, and natural forest stands.
