It is with great sadness our beloved uncle, great-uncle, father, and brother Franklin has left us on December 1, 2019 to join Creator and loved ones passed on.
Franklin was born to Marcie Smith (Frye) and Franklin Morris Jake Sr. on June 15, 1967 in Crescent City. Franklin was a proud member of the Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria. Franklin often attended brush dances and other cultural events. Franklin was a storyteller and wrote various stories. He loved karaoke, dancing, driving his mom to trips to Reno, and could often be found on his laptop. Franklin was a porter at Bear River Casino for 7 ½ years and at Redwood Casino for 1 ½ years.
Franklin was a graduate of Mckinleyville High School. He continued his education at College of the Redwoods and aspired to go back one day to complete his degree.
Franklin is survived by his sisters Rose Pepetone, Rhonda Cochran, and his brother Stanford Jake. His son Daniel Feicco, and daughters Cynthia Jake, Janice Jake. His nieces Jennifer Jenkins, Sierra Moon, Alicia Jake and nephews Aaron Pepetone, Robert Pepetone, George J.C. Cochran, Brandon Covell, Andrew Moon Jr. and his many other relations.
Franklin was preceded in death by his mother Marcie Smith (Frye) and father Franklin Morris Jake Sr. His brother Andrew Wade Moon and Aunties Lorna Mae Knight and Denny Smith. His nieces Winona Moon and Yolonda Renee Omstead.
There will be an open viewing for Franklin on December 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Goble’s Fortuna Mortuary and will be followed by a Celebration of Life at Tish Non Community Center at 4:30 p.m.
