The Humboldt State men’s basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end at Cal State East Bay on Thursday night, falling 88-78.

The loss drops the Jacks to 7-4 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. 

The HSU men are now tied for third in the conference standings with Cal State San Bernardino and two wins behind second-placed Cal State East Bay.

Jamarlin Jackson paced the Jacks offensively with 21 points, while teammate Jackson Strong finished with 14 points, but the visitors were unable to overcome a slow start.

The Jacks play at Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday.

Women

Humboldt State 78, Cal State East Bay 57

Isamar Conde scored 23 points and Alexia Thrower had a double-double, as the visiting HSU women won their third straight game.

With the win, the Jacks improve to 9-5 on the season and 7-4 in the CCAA.

Thrower finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Jovanah Arrington had 18 points and Madeline Hatch 10.

Tyra Turner also had 11 assists for the Jacks, and just just one turnover.
