We can now omit the “-Elect” from the titles of Humboldt County Supervisor-Elect Steve Madrone and Auditor-Controller-Elect Karen Paz Dominguez, both of whom took the oath of office this afternoon alongside five county officials who were re-elected in 2018.

In the video above, that’s (from left) Clerk-Recorder-Registrar of Voters Kelly Sanders; Treasurer-Tax Collector John Bartholomew; Assessor Mari Wilson; Fifth District Supervisor Steve Madrone; Auditor-Controller Karen Paz Dominguez; District Attorney Maggie Fleming; and Sheriff-Coroner William Honsal.

All together, in front of a large groups of family, friends and supporters, the group swore to support and defend the federal and state constitutions and to execute the duties of their respective offices faithfully.

Fourth District Supervisor Virginia Bass, who was re-elected to a third term in June, was absent.

A cheer went up after the oath was complete, and then it was time for glad-handing and photo ops.
