The Humboldt B52s gave up nine unanswered runs and failed to make an early advantage stick in a 9-6 loss to the Ukiah Hawks at Bomber Field on Friday night.

The B52s scored four times in the bottom of the first, but were held scoreless for the following six innings as the visitors slowly chipped away.

Spencer Duggan and Braeden Holliday each finished with a pair of hits for the B52s, who dropped to 21-10.

Holliday had a double and three RBIs.

Jeff Giacomini also had a double, while Ryan Rivera pitched four and two-third innings for the loss, allowing three earned runs on five hits and striking out five.

The two clubs will be back in action at Bomber Field on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m.

The Crabs, meanwhile, stayed hot with their seventh straight win on Friday, twice battling back from a deficit to edge the West Coast Kings 5-4 at the Arcata Ball Park.

Dawson Bacho hit his fifth home run of the season to lead the offense, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Bacho has had the hot bat lately, hitting three home runs in his past six games, including two this week.

Kyle Knell also had two hits in the win, including a triple, as the Crabs improved to 24-13.

Josh Mollerus pitched four innings for the win, allowing four hits and no walks, and striking out seven.

Daniel Carrizosa pitched well in relief, tossing two shutdown innings and striking out five.

The Crabs and Kings will play the second of three weekend games on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
