Jacob Smith continued to impress for the Humboldt B52s at Bomber Field on Saturday night, leading the way at the plate in a 6-3 win over the Sonoma County Tigers.
Smith, a 2018 McKinleyville High graduate, came into the game batting a team-high .419 since joining the team in the middle of June.
On Saturday he finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles, giving him six doubles on the season and tied for the team lead with Tommy Gale.
The win was the sixth straight for the B52s, who improved to 16-8 on the season.
Gale also had a had a big night at the plate, finishing 2-for-4, while teammates Eric Smelko and Cody Banks each also had a pair of hits.
Brian Orr added a triple, as the B52s took an early three-run lead and led 6-0 going into the eighth.
Keegan Beebe dominated on the mound for the home team, pitching six innings for the win.
Beebe, who improved to 2-1, held the Tigers scoreless, giving up just three hits and two walks, while striking out nine.
Ethan Fischel, Cole Harper and Matt Mascio rounded out a 13-hit team performance.
The two clubs will close out a three-game weekend series at Bomber Field on Sunday at 12:05 p.m.
