A man in a stolen car crashed into the Pacific Outfitters on Eureka’s 5th Street around 6 a.m. today, after seemingly losing control while driving erratically through the parking lot.

Videos of the crash — provided by store owner Aaron Ostrom — show the car sparking and catching air as it speeds up the business’ driveway. Moments later, the driver skids out and slams into the corner of the building.

EPD spokesperson Brittany Powell told the Outpost that the Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 1900 block of Spring Street in Eureka around midnight.

The suspect, seen fleeing the crash in the security camera footage below, is still at large. If arrested, he could be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and hit and run.
