Fortuna Police Department press release:
Fortuna Police are investigating the theft of three vehicles from the Campton Heights area of Fortuna since yesterday afternoon.
The first vehicle reported as being stolen is a 2018 Silver Colorado pick-up. The vehicle is believed to have been taken sometime between 10 p.m. on Tuesday and 7 a.m. on Wednesday from the 3000 block of Campton Heights Drive.
This vehicle was found this afternoon, partially submerged in the Van Duzen River at around mile marker 9 in Carlotta.
The owner was unable to account for all of the vehicle’s keys.
The second vehicle taken from the 3800 block of Campton Heights Drive is a champagne color, 1992 Honda Accord. The vehicle is believed to have been stolen sometime between 11 a.m. on Tuesday and 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
This vehicle has two bumper stickers on the rear bumper; an Estelle Fennell sticker and one that reads “Ignorance is Bliss”. All keys are accounted for this vehicle according to the owner.
The third vehicle is a silver, 2002 Honda Civic taken from Summer Street sometime between 1 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Keys have been accounted for this vehicle as well.
We ask that anyone living in either of the areas mentioned above, who has video surveillance recordings with anyone walking around at those times, please call and allow our officers to view footage that may help us apprehend the individual or individuals responsible.

Never leave keys in your vehicle.
Always securely lock your vehicle, and make sure windows are rolled up. Never leave valuables inside.
Remove any item such as credit cards, Medicare cards, etc.
