Crescent City’s crimefighting K9 Apollo died last week after seven years of service, police say.

The Crescent City Police Department announced Apollo’s passing on Friday, adding that the dog also enjoyed four years of retirement with his handler.

“Apollo spent his last days with fresh air, lots of space to roam and a lot of love,” the CCPD wrote on social media. “Born to love. Trained to serve. Loyal to the end.”
