When’s the Big One gonna hit? Do small earthquakes help prevent big earthquakes? Are there ways to tell if a tsunami is headed right for us?

Humboldt County’s Office of Emergency Services has put together an “Ask an Expert” series to answer these and other earthquake questions as part of California’s Tsunami Preparedness Week.

The series features Humboldt seismology expert Lori Dengler and National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Ryan Aylward, who have teamed up to better inform and incidentally scare the hell out of Humboldt residents.
