Linda Sulser passed away at the age of 78 in Eureka. Linda was born Missouri and spent her informative years in Humboldt County, living in Crannell and McKinleyville. Linda attended Arcata High School, graduating with the class of 1958. After high school, Linda worked for Lazio’s Seafood and Zook’s News Agency in Eureka.

Linda had a desire to cook and received training as a chef. As a chef, Linda worked in several restaurants throughout the country, including Las Vegas, Palm Springs, New Orleans and even cruise ships. There she met and became friends with some famous people. At various times throughout her working career, Linda owned her own restaurants, a Bed and Breakfast and florist shops. She also taught floral design, played the guitar and wrote poetry. Linda was one of Dolly Parton’s biggest fans, having visited Dollywood numerous times and attending her concerts.

In the early to mid 1990s, Linda was hit head on by a drunk driver and sustained major injuries that left her disabled. Linda eventually retired to Eureka, where she spent the rest of her days. But Linda was a fighter and even with her painful, physical disabilities, she would always try and help others. For example, every year she would volunteer with the Salvation Army at Christmas time as a Bell Ringer.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents George Sulser Jr. and Louise Sulser, brothers Muriel Sulser and George Sulser, sisters Edna Marie Glory and Evelyne Campbell and close friend Jamie Harris. Linda is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and relatives in France.
