A month after releasing her new album “Amidst the Chaos,” Humboldt-grown pop star Sara Bareilles has dropped a brand new Mother’s Day song titled “Shiny.”
“Surprise! In honor of Mother’s Day this weekend, I’m sharing my new song ‘SHINY,’” Bareilles wrote on Twitter. “It’s about wanting moms to see how special they really are.”

On Friday, Bareilles shared family photos of her mom on social media and asked fans to send in their own photos as well.
The Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award nominee then compiled the photos into a Mother’s Day montage set to her new single as seen in the video above.
