On May 12, 2019, at about 7 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an RV park in the area of the 4000 block of North State Highway 101, in the county’s jurisdiction of Eureka, to serve a felony arrest warrant.
Upon arrival, deputies located the wanted subject, 31-year-old Joshua Thomas Wentworth. He was taken into custody without incident.
During a search of Wentworth’s residence, deputies recovered two assault rifles, five handguns, seven loaded magazines, one 50-round drum magazine, three high capacity rifle magazines, over one hundred rounds of ammunition, stolen property from local burglaries including two stolen chainsaws, burglary tools, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.
Wentworth was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a multi-burst trigger activator, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, person under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of parole.
