Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – Arcata’s Thea Trout in action against Credo.

The NCS soccer playoffs resume on Wednesday evening, when Eureka and Arcata will renew their rivalry at Albee Stadium in a Division-I girls semifinal.

The showdown is a rematch of last season’s NCS championship game, although this season’s clash features numerous new faces, including a class of very talented freshmen who have settled in quickly for each.

None more so than Eureka’s Jordan Brown and Arcata’s Thea Trout, each of whom has been pivotal in attack for their respective teams.

Trout almost netted a hat trick in the Tigers’ NCS quarterfinal on Saturday, with just a late goal-line clearance denying her.

Watch Trout’s second goal and the late goal-line clearance here.

Wednesday’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The two teams have split a pair of matchups this season.
