College of the Redwoods volleyball improved to 1-2 in conference play with a straight sets win at  Lassen on Friday.

CR won 32-30, 25-21, 25-16.

The Corsairs were forced to battle all the way in the opening set, but took control of the match after that, led by Kaylin Campbell, who finished with a team-high 12 kills.

Ashlyn Maddeoux and Paula Mello each added seven kills, while Lexi Goodman finished with 21 digs.

Ariana Gallegos also had a big game.

“She did a great job at running the offense tonight,” head coach Petra Lorenzi said of Gallegos. “She gave our hitters a chance to attack.”

CR Men 3, Siskiyous 2

The Corsairs ended a four-game losing streak and posted their first conference win of the season at Siskiyous on Friday.

Richmond Miamen scored two goals in the win and assisted on the other, which was scored by Donty Thompson.

Tyrees Arana and Sean Colbert each also had an assist in the win.

The Corsairs are now 1-3 in the Golden Valley Conference and 4-7-1 overall.

CR Women 6, Siskiyous 0

Kiah Martin scored a hat trick to lead the Corsairs to their first conference win at Siskiyous on Friday.

Grace Rosebrook and Jaycee Morais each added a goal and an assist, while Adriana Catana rounded out the scoring.

Amy Reyes and Juliana Ortega-Miranda each also had an assist for the CR women, who improved to 1-1-2 in conference play and 5-3-1 overall.
