California Highway Patrol press release: 

On 10-23-2019, at approximately 0750 hours, CHP Humboldt Communications Center received a call of a hit and run collision involving a juvenile pedestrian struck by a vehicle. CHP Officers responded to McKinleyville High School and contacted a female juvenile with minor injuries. The juvenile reported that she was at the intersection of Winchester Ave and McKinleyville Ave, preparing to cross the street on her skateboard. A white 4 door sedan, traveling westbound on Winchester Ave, stopped at the intersection. The juvenile made eye contact with the driver and began crossing southbound across Winchester Ave in front of the car when the car suddenly proceeded forward into the intersection and struck the juvenile, knocking her to the ground. Following the collision, the car drove around the juvenile and fled the area. 

The driver of the hit and run vehicle is described as a white female, in her 30s, with blond hair in a bun or ponytail. The vehicle is described as a white 4 door sedan. The CHP Humboldt Area Office is continuing to investigate this collision and asks anyone who may have information which could help identify the driver and/or vehicle involved to contact the Humboldt Area CHP Office at 707-822-5981 or send an email to humboldt_area.humboldt_area@chp.ca.gov.
